| What is the ISO/IEC24711 standard? |
![]() It's an ISO standard (International Standard Organization, www.iso.org and IEC International Electrotechnical Commission, www.iec.ch) which aims to standardise the method making it possible to determine the yield of inkjet colour printers and any other multipurpose device which results from this. To summarize, the method consists in printing five pages in a shot, again and again, until depletion of the cartridge. Depletion is signalled by an increasingly clear impression of the test pages or when the printer warns that the ink level is too low to continue printing. Concerning photo colours, there is no industry standard for photo yield although the International Standards Organisation (ISO) has begun work to develop one. |
