Ink stains on clothing

Ink stains can be removed by soaking them with milk. If stains do not dissolve, gently rub with a piece of cloth soaked with peroxide.

- Lemon juice added with salt also eliminates stains
- On white or dyed cottons, alcohol at 90° or bleach added with water is also very effective.
- On coloured cotton fabrics, water added to vinegar gives good results.

Hair spray can prove to be very effective. Vaporize and then wipe it out immediately using a clean cloth. Start again until the stain is gone.

- This works on wool too. Alcohol at 90° and Javel water is to be proscribed on synthetics, artificial fibres and silk.
- On synthetic fabrics, dab the stain with lemon juice immediately and rinse with water.

In case of persistent colouring redo the process once more, or try the Corrector. (Detergent product available in all good hardware stores).

- An equal amount of alcohol and water mixture is also very effective.
- On wool and stained silk, you can apply a cloth soaked with a mixture made of 1/3 of ethylated spirits and 2/3 of cold water.
- On cotton or silk, you can obtain pretty good results by pouring heated lemon juice or by pouring hot milk (not boiling). When the  fabric is well soaked, rub it, wash it and rinse it off.
- On delicate fabrics, you'd rather rub sour cream on dry stains. Or rub it with glycerine. Let it rest for half an hour. Rinse carefully with hot water.

Colour ink stains:

Red ink or colour stains will fade away if you apply a thick coat of mustard on it. Let it rest for an hour or two. Wipe it off and rinse.
